As I write in this edition of our newsletter, I’m reminded of the changes that have recently taken place. Firstly, our move to the community of Aston and Swallownest, all the hard work and dedication that went in to getting things ready, was received with very thankful hearts.
Over the coming weeks, I will continue to take part in the different groups that make up the church as this has been a valuable part in getting to know the folk that make up our community.
Julie and I felt truly welcomed as we took part in an amazing induction and ordination service, thank you to all those who were able to take part and attend. The complimentary feedback from many of the visitors was a true testament to the hospitality, warmth and love that was shared by all on that momentous day. It felt like we literally raised the roof as we lifted our voices to praise His name on high!
However, as the nights draw in and the temperature lowers, we may be thinking of hibernating! May I encourage us all to spread the love and light of Jesus to all who we are journeying with, who we encounter on a daily basis and those who we are yet to cross paths with.
For it is with a deep conviction that we stand together and declare:
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes”. Romans 1:16
I would like to offer may thanks for all your prayers, cards and flowers that we have received and conclude by saying that we are encouraged by the warm welcome that we have received on our arrival to Swallownest Baptist Church.
Grace and peace in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
